What you'll need:

  • Iron-on beads (in all sorts of cheerful colors)
  • A pegboard to easily place the beads on
  • Templates or patterns for inspiration (you can easily find great ideas online)
  • Parchment paper

How to get started:

  1. Choose which vegetable or fruit you want to make with your little one. Do you feel like making a colorful watermelon? Or perhaps a cheerful kiwi or a beautiful strawberry… Everything is possible!
  2. Place the beads on the pegboard according to a template or pattern. You can also let your creativity run wild and experiment. Are you making a cover for a glass? Don't forget to leave a small hole in the middle or on the side for a straw.
  3. Now you can start ironing. Place a piece of parchment paper over your design and carefully iron over it on a low to medium temperature for 10 to 15 seconds. Carefully lift the parchment paper to check if the beads are well fused together.
  4. Once the top is well ironed, carefully flip the design over and place the parchment paper back on top. Now iron the other side for another 5 to 10 seconds to make the design nice and sturdy.
  5. Let your masterpiece cool sufficiently, and voilà! You have your homemade super fruity coaster!
