In the middle of the lively Grote Overstraat in Deventer, you'll find Hoge Ramen: a shop full of color, stories, and gifts that are sure to make you smile. Since 1987, this mini department store (as they call it themselves) has been a fixture in the city: a place where children play, parents can browse at their leisure, and everyone finds something they like.
The shop consists of two parts: at number 46/48, you'll find the gift shop full of home accessories, kitchenware, and unique gifts. At number 50, a cheerful mix of women's clothing, toys, and books awaits.
“What makes our shop unique? Especially the mix and the atmosphere,” says Claudia from Hoge Ramen. “We have an extensive and diverse assortment, yet it always feels relaxed here. In our toy and clothing shop, for example, children can play while their mother looks at clothes.”
Where HÖNGRY immediately found a home
It’s been more than three years since Hoge Ramen discovered HÖNGRY at ShowUp. “Those cheerful covers immediately caught our attention,” says Claudia. “And honestly? You really start to love those characters a bit. The illustrations appeal not only to children but just as much to parents.”
At home, ‘Gaan met die banaan’ quickly became a staple in their evening ritual: “Our daughter wanted to read it every evening. And later, when our son often had toddler tantrums, 'Framboos' became a real hit. It's nice how the themes grow with the children.”

In Deventer, ‘Jij bent mijn tomaatje’ is a consistent bestseller: “A wonderful book to give as a gift for a birth or first birthday. The title alone brings a smile to everyone's face.”
