Are you ready for a SUPER fun craft idea?
Let's make story stones together!
Story stones are stones with pictures on them that children (or adults!) can use as inspiration to create stories.
Story stones are smooth stones with an image on them. That image is the beginning of a story: it can be an animal, a place, a feeling… or one of our tasty friends from the Brock-’n-Roll gang!

Perfect for making up stories together, playing, and talking about everything that's on your mind.
What you'll need:
- Smooth stones (found in nature or bought at a craft store)
- Brock-’n-Roll temporary tattoos
- Sponge and water (to apply the tattoos)
- Acrylic paint (to color the background and help the tattoos adhere better)
- Mod Podge or clear varnish (for a protective glossy layer – optional but highly recommended)
How to make them
Stone-cold preparation
Put on your shoes and go look for the BEST stones! Ideal stones are smooth and not too small. Wash and dry them thoroughly so the tattoos stick well.
Paint the background
Do you want to color the stones? Paint them first and let them dry completely. A white or light background makes the tattoos stand out even more! The paint also helps the tattoos adhere better, so it's definitely recommended.
Apply the temporary tattoo
Cut out your favorite tattoo.
Remove the plastic layer and place the image face down on the stone. Use a wet sponge or cloth to wet the back.
Wait a moment… then carefully remove the paper. Tadaa!

Finishing touches
Now let your veggie friend dry completely. Then apply a layer of Mod Podge or clear varnish to protect the tattoo and give it a beautiful shine.

What can you do with story stones?
Emotion stones
Let children connect emotions to the characters. This makes it a fun and accessible way to talk about feelings.
Vocabulary game
Use the story stones to learn new words – such as vegetables, fruits, emotions, colors, or verbs.
Group stories
Put the stones in a nice bag. Then take turns pulling a stone out of the bag and together invent a crazy, tasty, or exciting story!
Discussing healthy eating
Use the cheerful HÖNGRY friends to playfully talk about nutrition and habits.
Sensory play
The stones feel nice and are wonderful for feeling, sliding, and playing with.
Ideal for children who love tactile materials and sensory learning! Combine them with sand, clay, or colored rice for even more fun.
